Reception were very excited to welcome paramedic Shane and his ambulance to school this morning. The visit was planned to support their topic ‘Accident and Emergency,’ and it kicks off a series of exciting visits by other people who help us. Shane told the children all about his job as a paramedic and imparted important messages such as the telephone number to call in an emergency, and when you might need to ring it. After the talk, Shane took the children outside to look around his ambulance and equipment, and he even let off his extremely loud siren! The children can look forward to a vet visit and doctor visit later in the week.
