Year 2
Summer 2012 - Jessa Huebing Reitinger’s work on bugs as inspiration. There’s lots to learn and enjoy, music to make, trips to go on and sporting glory to aim for as more skills are acquired. What are the four rules in maths – have fun finding out and applying them!
What we've been doing - the last few terms
Year 1
Summer 2012 - Seaside holidays, the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee are just three of the topics on the cards for Year One this term.
The Beach Day promises to bring great fun and to bring learning alive! Much of the focus of PE, Games and Clubs will be on preparing for our very own Berky Olympics – swifter, faster, stronger and on having fun acquiring skills.

Summer 2012 - Knights, Princesses and Castles
What we've been doing - the last few terms' fun.

'Crash, Bang, Wallop!' - the loud percussion group starts every term with a BANG! The corridors in the Pre-Prep building will be filled with music and laughter for all to hear. Any child in Years 1-2 may join in the fun, enjoying making music and performing - brooms and dustbins, drums and a huge range of percussion instruments are used to great effect - see right for the group performing at the Primary Live event.
The popular Andy Tucker Football Skills session is again up and running as the football season starts - fast and furious little ones in pursuit of the ball!
'Strum It!' our Ukulele and Guitar group, has again proved popular this year. There are many brightly coloured instruments being seen around school and sessions mix lots of fun with focused learning. Last year the group performed superbly at Primary Live and at the School Fete. Well done to all who did so well at such a young age - it is lovely to see music enjoyed and is great to see Berkhampstead's super music reputation looking to the future!
Parents' Evenings are held in the Autumn and Spring terms and parents book an appointment with the class teacher. It is a good opportunity to see some of the splendid work that the children have produced and so always worth coming earlier than the allotted time to take a good look round and to have chance to go through your child's books. Feedback in the Summer Term is in the form of a written report.
Of course, staff are always willing to discuss your child's progress between meetings if you should have any concerns.
There are some fabulous displays of children's work - they achieve so much!
