The PTA is at the heart of a strong community of parents, children and teachers at Berkhampstead. It aims to support and widen this network, to raise funds for the school and other charities through social events. The money donated to school goes towards projects which enhance our children’s experience here and complement the school’s own provision.
We organise a wide range of fantastic events throughout the school year. These usually include a Quiz Night, Family Fireworks Party, Children’s Christmas Discos, Christmas Fayre, Chess Congress, Pancake Extravaganza, May Ball and the Summer Fete. There really is something for everyone.
We also raise money from other activities such as running the Uniform Shop and the ever-popular cake sales. We help all to declutter with the Bag2School programme.
You can easily raise funds for the school right now, simply by signing up to easyfundraising.org.uk and shopping online.
In recent years the PTA has funded a range of projects, including a school minibus, the castle in the Pre-Prep playground, the ‘Trim Trail’ in the Prep playground, the refurbishment of the Food Technology Room and the annual Leavers’ Disco.
All parents are welcome at the evening PTA meetings for drinks and nibbles, socialising and planning. Here, we plan a range of events from the glamorous May Ball held at the PIttville Pump Room, through to the more mundane Bag2School fundraising collections.
We also hold regular coffee mornings - an ideal opportunity to meet other parents, hear about forthcoming events and contribute new ideas. Do come along if you can. We would love to see you and we would really appreciate your input and support.
Each class has a Class Representative on the PTA who will pass on information, co-ordinate class contributions, and arrange parent socials. Do get in touch if you don’t know who your Class Rep is. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or fundraising ideas, or if you would like to get more involved on a regular or one-off basis.
